Flashback Friday - Halloween

Man,  it has been a while since I did a flashback.  I've either been too busy or too tired, but here I am tonight with David out with the guys and the kids asleep...I actually have time and energy!  So, this flashback is going back to last year's Halloween time.

We went to the Pumpkin Patch with David's cousin and his family....

She didn't go anywhere without her doll, "Lou Lou"

Our family

Trent and Sammie...so little

The Ramirez Family

I also took the kids to the Pumpkin Patch with our play group

Look at all those sweet babies!

Blake and Sammie are always getting into something

And then on Halloween we dressed the kids up and did some trick or treating

My golpher, Caleb...this is actually a doggy costume. :)

She was sooo excited for candy

"Look at all the candy!"

Me with my baby boy...2 1/2 months old

My sweet pumpkin!

Ending the night with my princess

Last year was so much fun.  Sammie was old enough to really enjoy herself and I had a great time dressing Caleb up in different costumes. :)

32

Yup, 32, that is how old I turned about a week ago.  I don't feel how I thought I would feel at 32.  You know, when you were 20 and thought that 30 is so old....When you thought all those 30 year olds had it all together.  Well, I don't feel old, and I don't have it all together, but I must say, I am enjoying my 30s a lot more than my 20s.  Well, maybe not more, but definitely in a  different way.  No more late nights drinking and hanging with my girls.  I mean, I still hang out with my girls, but it's more of an early evening, with maybe a drink or two, if that.  And now there's rarely a time when David and I go out to dinner and drinks with friends.  Now it's more of a "come over to our house and we will bbq and maybe have a drink or two. And be sure to bring the kids so they can play too." I don't know, maybe it's not a 30 year old thing, maybe it is a "been there, done that thing." Or a "I have kids now, so going out  every weekend doesn't appeal to me."  Whatever  it is, I am in a good place now....32 is going to be a good year.

So anyway, my birthday.  David surprised me by coming home from work early.   We  just spent a nice quiet evening together...well, as quiet as it could be with  Samantha and Caleb.  Sammie really wanted to make me cupcakes, so that is what she and David did.  And then, I got my gift.  David got me an external hard drive.  I  was so excited.  I know, like David said, "It's not a girly gift." but I have been wanting one for a long time!  It is great, somewhere to back up all my files...mainly pictures and  videos. I love that David knows me so well that he knows what I want  and will buy it, even if it isn't "girly."  Last year, it was a new smart phone, this year an external hard drive.  I can't wait for next year!  :)

San Diego birthday fun

It seems as though the older I get, the less I care about celebrating my birthdays, but it is always a nice excuse to get out  of town for a day or so.  This year, I thought it would be nice to take the kids to Sea World.   Sammie has had a thing for dolphins lately and Caleb is all about animals.

We got to  Sea World around noon and true to Sammie's nature, it took her a little while to warm up to everything.  Caleb, on the other hand, could not wait to get out of his stroller and run around.  Once the day got going, we had a  lot of fun.

Samantha loved the rope climbing, penguins, dolphins, whale show, and of course, the best part of her day was the sea star ride, which was like the tea cups.

Watching the  Shamu show

She HAD to have the penguin because they were her favorite

She climbed the  ropes like 4 times

I don't know how I got this picture.  They were spinning soooooo fast

Caleb loved the little toddler play area, the sea turtles and the whale show.  And all the attention he got from everyone....he actually gave the lady in front of us a hug.

He could have stayed here all day

He was really into the show

So excited!

The next day, we woke up and took a little walk.  It was  nice because the hotel was right on the bay, so we just had to walk outside our room.  After that, we  headed to  Balboa Park and did some more walking around.  It was such a nice day.

It was such a wonderful weekend with my family.  There is no other way I would have wanted to spend my birthday.
